I have a question~~~~ what is next step?

I think we are doing really great work interms of research about what internet of things is and how is it applied to our world~~ but what is next step that we are suppose to do?
are we keep posting up the articles that we found intersting?

Oh!! due to different schedules of people, i guess the group meeting didn't happen today, but lets talk about it tomorrow in the class.

"Because of the design competition we are going to have short class".

The first deliverable, according to the course outline, is a "Basic Research Discovery Report" where we report on emergent signals.

I expect we will learn more in class about how to document emergent signals [maps, etc.], before it is due.

Hi guys, good job on the blog setup. And congratulations for not choosing from the same 2 themes as most of the other teams ;)

I would talk to Matt about what kind of deliverables to include in your intial report, but I would encourage you to keep collecting research materials.

First, just to be clear "Signals" are your personal interpretation of the salient points of your research. Ie. As you research you will begin to form opinions about the important relevant issues.

I would suggest meeting once you have all collected signals. At this point it might be helpful to classify signals under Motivating Trends. These Trends reflect groups of signals which indicate significant behavior shifts. For example 2006 will see more than half of the worlds population living in urban environments - so the motivating trend of "Concrete Communities" would reflect signals about Individualist/Collectivist thinking, Using Leisure Time, Reclaiming Green, Outdoor Play, Over-Stimulation etc. (or vice versa depending on your point of view and how your signals come together)

This report does not need to address specifically how these signals can improve/threaten quality of life; you only want to show what people, organizations, governments are doing/thinking/writing. At this stage, provide a clear picture of the emerging landscape - the next stage is about the maximization of the opportunities.
